Because of growth of population and massive expansion of human activities, boundaries of the earth, which we did not need to consider seriously before, are now casting various problems to human such as climate changes, bio-diversity, foods, instability of economy and society, poverty, and so on. To seek solutions for these problems, firstly we need to understand the target as "open systems". The systems consist of multiple inter-related subsystems, and the relations among those subsystems cannot be predefined but change dynamically.
The goal of my research is to build up a concept and implementation of "open simulation" as a framework to understand such systems. Methods of fusing different types of simulation will be one of the keys. A scheme of incremental or dynamical modification by which designers can describe the world step by step will be another one. My dream is to develop such an open framework on which researchers from various domains can verify their hypothesis.
