The speed of processors and networks are getting higher day by day, yet people are still not comfortable in the modern computer environment. People have more to worry about today than yesterday - computer viruses, personal data security to name but a few. One of the reasons for the discomfort is that digital communication is not only too fast but also hidden from the people concerned. Therefore, one of the key issues is to make communication between people and the computer environment more explicit. Development of electronic communication has been focused on covering further distance, wider band-width and higher quality, for example. Yet communication between people and the computing environment has different aspects that need to be considered.
My research interest is to establish friendly communication between the user and the computing environment where the user can be recognized as a unique individual. Environments should be aware of whom they are communicating with and people should be aware of the on-going communication with the computing environments when they are interacting.
