[altq 137] CBQ link Sharing

Hi all,

I am new to ALTQ. I am trying to set up the cbq link sharing
using altq-1.2 on freebsd 3.2 on a machine with two ethernet
interfaces, fxp0 and xl0, whereby fxp0 is connected to a source
of 100Mbps and xl0 is connected to a sink of 10Mbps and packet forwarding is
enabled.

I have generated two udp streams with destinated ports 10000
and 10001. Both the streams are transfered at rates of about
0.4 Mbps. I used the cbqmonitor and cbqprobe to monitor the
profile of the link sharing on the interface xl0. However,
when both streams are active, the throughput for each class
displayed on the cbqmonitor is reduced to 0.2Mbps. On the other
hand, if only one is active, the throughput is 0.4 Mbps. The
cbq configuration file is attached.

There is more than enough bandwidth available. But why should
one stream affect the other
May I know what is the reason ? What is the solution?

Best Regards

David
