Fumio Teraoka

My research covers computer network, operating systems, and distributed processing. Currently, I am most interested in the redesigning of network architectures. Conventional network architectures are incapable of solving some current problems, for instance, how to communicate with mobile computers, how to transmit real-time data such as voice and video, how to control routing and addressing in the networks continually expanding, how to achieve multicast that simultaneously delivers the same information to more than one destinations, and so on. I have desinged a new network architecture for mobile computers and implemented a new protocol for them. I the future, I would like to extend my study to cover other issues.
