[altq 100] cbqd: Operation not supported by device

Hello,

this is causing me a lot of trouble at the moment and i hope it has a 
straightforward answer,
(i tried re building/installing kernels devices.. but still)

i'm trying to use cbqd in FreeBSD 3.2R system and all i'm getting is the 
following :

ammon# /usr/local/bin/cbqd -f /mnt/trees1/etc/cbq-2q.conf
cbqd[280]: CBQ open
cbqd[280]: : Operation not supported by device
ammon# ls -lt /dev/cbq 
crw-r--r--  1 root  wheel   96,   1 Aug 16 19:12 /dev/cbq

any help would be greatly appreciated
