[altq:1827] BGE Problem

Hello!

I'm a newcomer to ALTQ. I've successfully set it up on one
of our machines, and it's working just fine and as expected.

BUT
one of my NICS is 3COM 3C996B-T, and it is not working. Some traffic goes
through it - for example ICMP pings, IMAP, POP3.... But things like HTTP,
proxies and most of the services I am using do not work through it. Also,
when I ifconfig it up & down several times, the whole system hands
up.

I have not used the NIC before I made my kernel ALTQ-aware. So
I'm not sure if the trouble is in ALTQ <-> BGE, and I am now gonna
test the NIC with a fresh setup of FreeBSD.

My question is does
anyone of you know something about this problem? What could be the reason?
Is it something in ALTQ and BGE integration? Am i missing
something?

My machine configuration:
2 x Athlon MP
2000+
Gigabyte 7DPXDW+
512 MB RAM
1 x Promise RAID
1 x 3Ware
Escalade 7500
FreeBSD 4.8
ALTQ

This is a production server,
which acts as an FTP server for our clients' network. So I really need
gigabit!
