[altq:1859] AltQ - CBQ RIO and Best Effort Flows

Dear All,

I am using AltQ 3.1 on FreeBSD 4.7.

The configuration in place is using a DiffServ flow classification with CBQ RIO
and conditionners.
I have limited the bandwidth of the output interface to 64Kbps (ISDN serial link
used on the path). I have read the limitations in the AltQ tips for such slow links.

I am using a SmartBit device to generate packets, in order to check the
behaviour of the configuration.

Results are in accordance with awaited behaviour for the EF and AFxx classes.
However, the Best Effort flows are not dropped (almost not at all); and I would
like them to be dropped first...

Do you have any idea why ?

I have not set any queue/buffer size. A guess could be that the BE buffer is to
big for such a small bandwidth. How could I decrease it ?

Any help or idea would be welcomed.

Thank you very much

Best Regards

Franck GRIFFON
