[altq 1373] Re: Need help: PRIQ Details
Hi Kenjiro,
Sorry, I didn't describe the result in my previous mail. I run ALTQ at the
bottleneck link (outgoing interface) of 10Mbps (from another link of speed
100Mbps). There are three flows with three different priorities (let's say
5, 10 and 15) passing through these linkes (from 100Mbps link to 10Mbps
link). All flows are generated with equal bandwidth of 10 Mbps.
I found out that:
1. the highest priority flow gained less bandwidth than expected (it got
about 5-6 Mbps)
2. the second highest priority flow gained more bandwidth than expected (it
got 3.5-4.5 Mbps)
3. The lowest priority flow got about 0-1 Mbps.
I have tried generating these flows with some other bandwidth (all flows
with equal bandwidth each time) from 5 - 12 Mbps, and still got the same
result at stated in number 1 and 2 above (with different amout of bandwidth
result).
Following simply priority queue, the highest flow should receive as much
bandwidth as possible. Then the rest is given to the lower ones (in their
priority order), right?
Could you help explaining?
Thanks a lot,
Tippyarat T.
