[altq:1686] Some questions about altq

I read the tips worte by kenjiro, and found the syntax for RED but dont undestand then. Can someone tell me some basics on how to tune them, or redirct me to a place where i can read about it ?

 

I have a Openbsd box (3.1), and in the tips.txt kenjiro write that openbsd doesn't support changing the kernel option HZ. I may be wrong, but i think the option is changeable in 3.1. Is this still printede in the tips.txt cause lack of time or isn't it the same option we are talking about?

 

Will altqd be able to shape a 1Gbit nic to various 256K filters propperly?

 

The filter syntax have the proto parameter. Where can i find a list of protos? I look at google.com, but i might be searhing on the wrong words.
