What is the most important and fundamental function of the brain? I believe it is "control and learning of skillful movements” because speech, gesture, sports, playing a musical instrument - all actions that interact with the world around us are done through movements. However, it still remains unclear how the brain controls movement and how new motor skills are acquired through training. I will shed light on such fundamental mechanisms of the brain and hope to promote human health and culture in terms of helping top athletes and musicians break through the limits of their superb skills, promoting recovery from motor deficiencies caused by aging and disease, and preventing injuries and slumps caused by misuse of the body and learning.
