人々が再び月へ降り立つ時代がやってきます。そのとき、地球を超えて、人々が自由に行き来するということが当たり前になり、通信もまた自由にかつ同時につながることが求められてくるようになると考えています。単なるコミュニケーションだけでなく、様々な観測、情報収集、さらに、遠隔医療なども地球という枠を超えて行われることでしょう。現在担当している衛星間光通信技術の開発を通じて、どこでもつながるネットワークの実現に、少しでも貢献することを目指しています。

There will come a time when humans will travel to the moon again. When movement between planets and moons becomes the norm, people will desire unrestricted, simultaneous communication. This is more than simple correspondence. Observation, information gathering, and remote medical care will take place across planetary boundaries. Through my work developing inter-satellite optical communication technology, I aim to contribute to the realization of a network that can be connected to from anywhere.
