[11/3 Conference] Paper Co-authored by Shunichi Kasahara to Be Presented at ACM UIST 2026
“Faster Than Muscle: Executing Action based on Voluntary Nervous Signals,” co-authored by Research Director Shunichi Kasahara, will be presented at ACM UIST 2026 in Detroit, USA, from November 2 to 5.
The research uses the onset of voluntary muscle activity, measured through electromyography (EMG), to trigger actions before biological movement occurs. Three implementations explore finger actuation, software input and robotic hand control, examining both faster execution and users’ sense of agency.
The presentation is scheduled for November 3, 11:36 to 11:48 a.m. EST, in “The Body Electric: EMS and Electrotactile Interfaces.”
