Future of Computing Project
Project Researcher
With the end of Moore’s Law approaching, the growth in CPU computing power has been slowing down, prompting questions about the future of computing. In the past, general-purpose processors—so-called CPUs—were sufficient for a wide range of computational tasks. Today, however, achieving efficiency increasingly requires processors that are tailored to specific problems. This shift reflects a fundamental trade-off between generalization and efficiency.
My research focuses on efficient computing for spatial data and, more broadly, on hardware–software co-design—holistically optimizing both processors and algorithms. The use cases are diverse and expanding, driven by the rapid growth of spatial data across domains.
