小型で汎用性の高いレーザー通信端末同士による宇宙～地上間での通信の実現を目指す
ノルウェーの衛星関連サービス会社、コングスベルグ・サテライト・サービシズ（Kongsberg Satellite Services 代表取締役：Rolf Skatteboe 以下、KSAT）とソニーCSLは、国際宇宙ステーション（ISS）の「きぼう」日本実験棟に設置した小型光通信実験装置「SOLISS」とギリシャに設置された世界初の商用光地上局までの光ダウンリンク確立に成功しました。通信形式には宇宙データシステム諮問委員会（CCSDS）の推奨規格(141.0-B-1 + pink sheets for O3K)が使用されています。
Sony CSL and Kongsberg Satellite Services (KSAT) successfully demonstrated optical downlinks from a space terminal (Small Optical Link for ISS: SOLISS) on the International Space Station (ISS) to the KSAT commercial optical ground station in Greece. The communication format used is aligned with the CCSDS (141.0-B-1 + pink sheets for O3K) waveform standard.
